In 1994 Paula Arenas found her love of singing while listening to a Colombian Soap Opera at Cafe con aroma de mujer. She was inspired from the singing style of Gaviota, a main character in that Opera and later she earned the nickname Gaviotica.

Education of Arenas:

Paula went to Choir School at the age of seven. After she gained interest in music, she applied for the formal music education in Colombian University of Los Andes and Pontifical Javierian University. Unfortunately got rejected from both universities.

But her interest in music did not stop her from becoming a successful singer. Paula started performing covers of popular songs at the local bar and restaurants. After some time, she got hired by El Bandido restaurant to perform Frank Sinatra. This time she also collaborated with some Colombian singers as well and formed a band.

Paula was a good friend of Vega and her friend introduced her to Julio Peyes Copello. She got encouraged and took her career in the singing and music industry seriously.

Debut in Singing:

Paula Arena released her self-titled EP in November 2011 and made her debut in singing. This EP includes songs such as Me Hace Bien, Sola, Lo Que El Tiempo Dejo ( collaboration with Esteman ), Excesos and Un dia cual ( produced by Juan Pablo Vega). From these the song Lo Que El Tiempo Dejo became successful as it reached the top 10 on Colombian pop charts.

In 2014 she released a song with Julio Reyes Copello and after it she moved to Miami.

Debut in Single:

She made debut single in March, 2016, when she released Nada. This single got million plays and entered in the list of most important spotify charts in Latin America. After one month, Paula Arenas opened for Alejandro Sanz during his Sirope Tour in Bogotá and Medellín. Also, Paula performs in Miami and New York for the first time as well. In collaboration with Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, She released her second single Ahora soy libre on August 5 of the same year. At the end of the year, her third single Hoy comes as well. Paula Arenas enlisted herself in Spotify's Best of Radar Latino 2016 and also performed many concerts in Seaspice, Miami.

During 2017, she released the song Tanto, tanto and the EP Matices .

Paula Contract with Sony Music:

Fetched the young Colombian singer to sign a record contract with Sony Music Colombia for the promotion and the distribution of the singer's first full-length album, Tiempo al viento , performed in a duet with Cuban singer Diana Fuentes. This song was released as the lead single of her debut studio album Visceral which was released in the year 2019. This album was nominated for four awards at the twentieth edition of the Latin Grammys. Another nominee in the Best Pop Song category in regard to the second song glossy Nothin' No Good for Ya about this album was also the song Bonne Pour Rien.

In the next year, she presented A tu lado which is the leading song of her EP Mis amores released on May 21st 2021 and won several Latin Grammys in the twenty-second edition and an Anglo Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. The single A tu lado was also nominated for the Record of the Year category at the Copas Grammy.

She appeared in presence at the Mexican independent record label, Professor Records in 2022 and dropped two separate singles Puro sentir and Un dia una vez.

In 2023, two songs, A ciegas and Déjame llorarte, were released which are the part of her second studio album A ciegas, which came out on May 19, 2023. A month late in the year, Paula Arenas got the nomination of the Best Pop Song for the Nuestra Tierra Awards. In September, Thanks to the efforts of Arenas in Latin Grammy 24th She got 4 Nominations.
