David Guetta was born in Paris, France on November 7, 1967.

Family of David Guetta:

Pierre Guetta, a Morrocan-Jewish sociologist who later became a restaurant owner and Monique Guetta, his French psychoanalyst of Belgian descent were the parents of David. Nathalie, an actress, is her sister.

Training:

While at Lycée Paul Valéry in Paris David started getting interested in electronic music. Law was what he studied at University of Paris X Nanterre though he couldn’t finish his degree there. His music education happened when he immersed himself fully in the musical culture of Paris and experimented with electronics and DJing all the time.

Starting as a DJ:

By the time he was seventeen years old, it was already clear that he would be one of the best DJs ever known. In Paris’ local clubs he worked as a DJ playing funk and house music. At Broad club is where some of his earliest performances took place as an organizer of house music nights. It is at this point that various other DJs and producers came into contact with him influencing him to develop his own style.

He met Sidney, another DJ during this time who introduced him to house music and made him desire to be involved in it for life. The start was marked by an encounter with Dj Sidney who taught him about djing house music. He then created his parties himself while on Ibiza island.

One of the top most influential DJs and producers in electronic music, his career was launched in 2002 by the release of his first album "Just a Little More Love", which featured the hit single Love Don't Let Me Go. This album was followed by a series of international smashes.

In 2009, he released "One Love", an album that took his career to new heights with chart-topping songs such as When Love Takes Over featuring Kelly Rowland, Sexy Bitch featuring Akon and Memories featuring Kid Cudi. Since then, this album has been a milestone for David Guetta worldwide fame and an opportunity to collect several awards including Grammys.

Working with people such as Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber or Zara Larsson among others proved that his influence on pop music is undeniable. Guetta’s unique blend of house, electro and pop have redefined the sound of modern dance music. Guetta rose to become one of the most sought-after producers before being named best DJ in the world in 2011 according to DJmag magazine's annual poll. He has played at some of the biggest music festivals globally like Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival and Coachella as well as having residencies at some of Ibiza’s elite clubs.

Some of his highly influential albums are "Just a Little More Love (2002)" which was his debut and marked him internationally; Guetta Blaster (2004) where he carried on working out his style and broadening his audience; Pop Life (2007), together with its famous track Love Is Gone – well-known in clubs all over; One Love (2009) which became the most successful one with various charting singles, Nothing but the Beat (2011); Listen (2014) – more experimental with an emphasis on songwriting and vocal collaborations and 7 (2018) – where he presented different styles and collaborations, showing his versatility and artistic development.

Another commercial work includes composing Euro 2016’s anthem in France.

Personal Life of David Guetta:

In 1992, he got married to Cathy Lobe, also known as Cathy Guetta who was a businesswoman and event organizer. They had two children, Tim Elvis Eric (born in 2004) and Angie (born in 2007).

Cathy announced the end of their marriage in Paris Match magazine on August 20th,2014 after twenty-two years together. In his early days while starting out in the Ibiza nightclubs and entertainment industry, Cathy played a major role in David’s career success.

He started dating Cuban model, actress and producer Jessica Ledón in 2016. On March 17th,2024 through a social media post he confirmed that his girlfriend Jessica Ledón had given birth to their third child Cyan Guetta.

His hobbies include surfing, skiing and travelling; that is why he has several houses around the world.
